Hey everyone! I’m thrilled to announce two more unforgettable trips coming up in 2018!
This July and October, I’ll be leading groups of adventurous women to Alaska, as well as Namibia, Botswana, and Victoria Falls in Africa.
These two destinations couldn’t be more different in nearly every way—except that both are fantastic places for an adventure.
The trips range from a gentle introduction to adventurous travel in Africa and Alaska to a full immersion, like a week of backpacking in the Alaskan backcountry, completely off the grid, carrying our own gear.
There’s something here for every woman. Which one calls to you?
Sunrise over Namibia’s famous orange dunes
We designed the Africa trip of a lifetime, creating something I don’t see on the market right now. Most options I’ve found are either budget party safaris in tents or ultra-luxury packages out of reach for many travelers. Ours combines beautiful lodges under starry skies with safaris, optional adrenaline activities, and the grand finale of seeing one of the natural wonders of the world—Victoria Falls. Experience Africa in comfort and safety, but without the stuffiness or lack of authenticity, this October.
Here are some highlights:
- The iconic blackened Acacia Trees found only in Namibia
- Sunrise over the stunning orange sand dunes
- Opportunities to sandboard and skydive
- Abundant wildlife in Etosha National Park, famous for rhinos, lions, zebras, giraffes, colorful birds, and maybe even the honey badger if we’re lucky
- A flight over the Okavango Delta, renowned for its herds of elephants and hippos
- A river cruise in Chobe National Park—still one of my favorite wildlife experiences ever
- A chance to get close to and feel the power of Victoria Falls, a natural Wonder of the World
- Plus SO MUCH MORE. Check out the full itinerary here.
The wild beauty of Alaska
Alaska is a dream destination for outdoor enthusiasts. It’s hard to put into words the feeling of gazing at endless glaciers in pristine wilderness, with no signs of development or other people. It’s humbling and awe-inspiring—an experience everyone should have at least once in life!
Here are some highlights:
- A seven-hour Kenai Fjords National Park cruise, where we’ll get up close with glaciers and maybe even whales!
- A hike on the Matanuska Glacier for spectacular views of crevasses, seracs, ice falls, moulins, caves, and surface ponds
- White-water rafting in glacier-fed water, some of the purest on Earth
- Spending time with adorable sled dogs and their puppies
- For those who want to backpack in Alaska: a special women-only backpacking week where we leave the trails and head into the backcountry, completely off the grid
- Special route-finding, navigation, and wilderness techniques taught by our guide Pete, who was the outdoor guru on MTV’s Made and Extreme Survivalists in Alaska
- Plus SO MUCH MORE. Check out the full itinerary here.
And for both tours, you’ll get as much photography help from me as you want, so you’ll come home with photos and memories you’re excited to share and keep forever.

Why We’re Doing Tours Especially for Women
When I did surf training with a women’s group in Maui, I realized there’s an extra layer of comfort when adventure activities are shared among women.
Ever since I started solo travel, I’ve also noticed that women face many stereotypes on the road and have a different set of considerations. In many ways, being a female traveler is a gift and an advantage—and when shared, it grows!
What I love about women-only tours is the safe space they create for testing your adventurous spirit with like-minded women who share the same goals. The dynamic feels supportive and sisterly, which is so comforting when you’re tackling physical or mental challenges.
Safety and Comfort
When it comes to Africa, safety is a big concern for many people. After spending six months in Southern Africa, including a month in the countries we’ll visit on this trip, I’m confident we’ve chosen the best places to travel through this beautiful part of the world.
It might surprise you that both Namibia and Botswana are ranked safer than the United States by the Institute for Economics and Peace. They also boast incredible wildlife, breathtaking natural beauty, and fantastic lodges. We’ll have access to infrastructure and be comfortable. Plus, we’ll share these amazing experiences together, so you’ll never have to venture into the unknown alone.
In Alaska, conditions will be rugged, especially during the hiking week. That’s why having guide Pete along is so valuable. He has over 200 hours of wilderness medicine training and is a certified Wilderness First Responder. We’ll also carry a Satellite Phone and Personal Locator Beacon.
I personally did a tougher hike with him in Alaska last summer just to test his skills—and he truly knows his stuff, without the ego and machismo I’ve sometimes encountered with other guides. After that experience, I knew he was the perfect partner to bring these adventure tours to life.
Can’t wait to explore with you!
Why Be My Travel Muse Adventures?
My goal when traveling is always to have an experience that feels unique, authentic, and real. With these tours, I want you to feel the same way. I want them to awaken your sense of adventure—or if it’s already wide awake, to keep stoking that fire inside you, so the world feels accessible and inviting. I see exploration as playful and fun, and I want to share that with you.
Based on the awesome, dynamic group that signed up for the Peru trip (all solo travelers, by the way), I can tell that the people drawn to these trips are exactly what I suspected—women who want the real deal but might not want to do these adventures completely alone. I totally get that!
An incredible amount of planning went into crafting these amazing adventures in Alaska and Africa, and I’m so excited to go on these tours myself—which is why I feel confident offering them to you. I’m thrilled to share this experience with you and can’t wait for that chance!
So where do you want to go in 2018? Pick a place that starts with an ‘A’, and I’ll see you there!
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
I can’t wait to travel with you this year!
