Ugg boots—often simply called uggs—have captured our affection for years. They offer a winning combination of style, comfort, and warmth. Over time, these shoes have become a wardrobe staple for nearly every woman. We still adore them, even in the face of men's sarcastic jabs and comparisons to traditional felt boots. Their enduring appeal makes sense: for once, designers prioritized our comfort over forcing us into painful footwear just to follow trends. Yet the newest Ugg trend has truly stunned us.
The Ugg Revolution
During Paris Fashion Week, the autumn-winter runway featured shoes that sparked quite a buzz. Designers are urging us to wear oversized boots this winter—complete with stiletto heels and abundant folds.

Partnering with French label Y/Project, Ugg unveiled a boot collection that is far from the cozy footwear we know. The Paris Fashion Week runway featured truly startling designs.

The boots appeared in two distinct styles: a tall version reminiscent of trousers, and a folded-down look as if the model had partially unzipped the boot and hadn't removed it. Color options are black and the brand's signature chestnut hue.

These are not the classic uggs we rely on for errands, dog walks, or lounging days when all we crave is comfort.

The collection also included Ugg mules in the same chestnut shade, suggested to pair with straight-leg jeans—often called 'boiled sausages'.

Men are not left out. They are advised to wear classic Uggs, but also extremely tall and voluminous versions. These were also designed by Belgian designer Glenn Martinez and debuted in the autumn-winter 2018/2019 men's collection at Paris Fashion Week.

These remarkable boots have been on sale at various retailers since September 2018. Prices range from €250 to €1,200 per pair.
Designers keep surprising us. Just when we believe we've witnessed it all, even more eccentric ideas emerge in their collections. In their quest to be unique, they sometimes overlook that fashion is meant for the public—and few are likely to embrace such extreme looks. What's your take on this new direction?
