One of my all-time favorite summer getaways, Positano captured my heart the instant I laid eyes on it! Its breathtaking scenery and romantic atmosphere never lose their allure, no matter how many times I return—I find myself drawn back again and again. Despite being a relatively small town, Positano packs a punch with its offerings, so I figured it would be fun to share my personal list of must-sees and must-dos.
The beach! Naturally, that’s a given! Among my favorite beaches globally, we spend most of our time there when we arrive in Positano. The town offers both public and private beaches, but I highly recommend opting for the private ones. While it’s not inexpensive (€25 per person for the front row, €20 for the rest), the private beach is far less crowded, and having a comfortable lounger and umbrella is a total game-changer for me. After all, if you plan to lounge all day, comfort is key!
Drinks with a view—an absolute must in Positano! Whether it’s a cocktail or a full meal, the vistas are simply spectacular. Top picks include Hotel Il San Pietro di Positano, Le Sirenuse Hotel Champagne Bar, L’Ancora Hotel, and Franco’s Bar! Even if you’re not staying at these hotels, you can drop in for a drink, though I strongly suggest booking ahead since these spots are incredibly popular.
While Positano boasts many excellent restaurants, we always make a point to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables beyond dining out. On our last visit, I swear I ate my weight in peaches—and now that we’re back in Los Angeles, I can’t find anything that tastes nearly as good! So, definitely indulge while you’re there!
Make time to explore! We always do, and the spot we discovered on a recent adventure has become a new favorite. The views are breathtaking, and even though it takes about 15–20 minutes by taxi (search for Belvedere dello Schiaccone on Google for the exact location), it’s totally worth it!
What about you all—do you have any favorite Positano spots I should explore on my next trip?
