Kat Von D Teams Up with Divine for a Striking Eyeshadow Palette | British Beauty Blogger

After my failed attempt to link Basket Case liner to Green Day's Billie Joe, I'm on firmer ground discussing the Divine Palette. Everyone knows the iconic drag queen and actor Divine, muse for Ursula in The Little Mermaid and star of Hairspray. It's a natural match for Kat Von D, who champions subcultures and individuality. Sadly, Divine passed away in 1988—hard to believe it's been that long—but her legacy still inspires drag performers and perhaps mermaids everywhere.

The shades are bold—you can go full-on black and grey smoky eyes or experiment with blues, greens, and golds. I adore the Divine eyebrow detail etched onto the mirror.

Every shade is named after one of Divine's most memorable performances (both on-screen and off). The formulas vary—the first one, Babs, is incredibly soft, so avoid digging in too deep!

From bottom to top: Babs, Hard Magic, Baltimore, Waters, Filthy, Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Hairspray.

The swatches follow the same order—that black is incredibly intense! This is a limited-edition palette, so if you're tempted, you'll want to act quickly. I can imagine countless looks from these eight shades—most are surprisingly wearable, though good luck with that acid green!

I don't have a UK launch date yet (Debenhams), and Kat's palettes usually cost £30 or more, which feels steep for cardboard packaging. Still, this one seems quite special.
