A shelved joint effort between 21 Savage and Metro Boomin has officially emerged as they unleash their track "Pause."
Set against Metro's somber piano chords and bruising drum patterns, Savage delivers verses touching on his $1,500 designer belt, sticking up shops, and packing heat, while sneaking in a nod to Adele's "Shot You Down."
"Sworn to secrecy from the jump / Mess with the set and we'll gun you down Adele-style," he spits, followed by a couple of threats: "Shorty, better know your position / Shorty, I just might bust all on your face."
Reports indicate the track was previewed as early as 2015 yet got cut from the duo's joint LP, Savage Mode.
21 is currently enjoying major traction on the Hot 100. At present, he's credited on four charting entries: Post Malone's "rockstar" (No. 3), Cardi B's "Bartier Cardi" (No. 19), his own "Bank Account" (No. 29), and Farruko's "Krippy Kush" (No. 75).
