Workday Style: Refreshed Blazer Paired with Tailored Trousers

My current office-day wardrobe looks nothing like the one I wore during my corporate years.

Workday Style: Refreshed Blazer Paired with Tailored Trousers

Happy Friday, friends! My office days look quite different these days from the ones I had during my corporate career. I could never have pulled off an ensemble like that back then, especially the see-through elements. That said, layering a wool coat with a blazer and tailored trousers is a timeless formula that always works… Swap the sheer turtleneck for a sharp button-down (this fitted H&M shirt at $20 is a favorite) and platform heels for traditional pumps (such as these well-reviewed Sam Edelman styles), and a creative field-office outfit becomes a polished corporate-ready look.

It was unintentional, but my hair ended up coordinating perfectly with the ribbon trim on my blazer. I experimented with a fresh approach a couple of days back and absolutely adore the outcome! My usual routine involves showering in the morning (shampooing every two or three days), followed by blow-drying and curling my hair.

Recently, I showered in the evening, wrapped my hair in an Aquis towel turban (I cannot recommend it strongly enough!), wrapped up some lingering work tasks, and headed off to sleep. No blow-drying, no styling. When I woke up, my hair had incredible lift and body! Zero frizz — just glossy strands loaded with volume. It was honestly wild. I kept having to smooth it down repeatedly! On top of that, my curls settled into more of a soft water-wave pattern, as visible in this post. Anyway, I'm completely sold on the tousled, voluminous, bedhead-inspired relaxed-curl aesthetic (the ultimate example being Charlize Theron in Atomic Blonde!). I plan to replicate that nighttime ritual to see whether I can match the same voluminous finish. Will share the results with you soon!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend and heartfelt thanks for reading!
