Xscape's revival shows no signs of slowing down. After officially launching their long-awaited reunion trek, the beloved 90s ensemble has already set its sights on what comes next. Capitalizing on this renewed momentum, the group is charging forward with fresh recordings and a freshly appointed manager—minus Kandi Burruss.
In an exclusive chat with HipHollywood, the group confirmed that Vincent Herbert will be steering their musical direction as their new manager. Once their reunion tour wraps up this coming January, the four-piece will officially shrink to a trio consisting of LaTocha Scott, Tameka "Tiny" Harris, and Tamika Scott.
"We broke bread with him and had a real conversation—much like how deals usually come together—and he immediately understood what we were aiming for and recognized the possibilities in our group," Tamika shared.
Herbert built much of his reputation guiding the career of his soon-to-be-ex-wife, Tamar Braxton, and previously worked with Lady Gaga.
Tiny chimed in, noting, "We admired the work he did with Tamar and Lady Gaga, and we knew he had a real grasp on the industry side of things. We're absolutely thrilled about this partnership."
Even with Herbert now onboard for the trio, they aren't parting ways with their existing manager, Mona Scott-Young, who helmed their four-episode Bravo reality program and is slated to produce their biographical film hitting screens in 2018.
LaTocha clarified, "Mona continues to handle the four of us for the reality series plus all our television and film endeavors. Vincent focuses solely on our music."
Fresh material has already arrived! Teaming up with producer Tricky Stewart, the group has been putting in serious studio time. LaTocha mentioned, "We managed to lay down six tracks in roughly six days."
Friday marked the release of two brand-new singles from the trio—"Dream Killa" and "Wifed Up." Their vocal abilities remain undeniable, though it seems they've developed quite the fondness for auto-tune along the way.
Both "Dream Killa" and "Wifed Up" can now be streamed or purchased on iTunes alongside other digital outlets.
These tracks mark the group's inaugural release of fresh material since 2005. That said, the era of their iconic four-part harmony has almost certainly come to a close. The foursome hasn't laid down a recording together since 1998, and Kandi has reiterated that she will step away from the group again once the tour concludes.
