I can’t wait to hear which films you’re most anticipating. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic year on the big screen.

A WRINKLE IN TIME – March 9, 2018 (Walt Disney Studios) This epic adventure is based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic and follows Meg Murray, a typical middle school student grappling with self-worth issues. Meg simply wants to fit in. She’s intelligent and uniquely gifted, as is her younger brother Charles Wallace, but she hasn’t yet realized it. The mysterious disappearance of Mr. Murry devastates Meg and breaks her mother’s heart. Charles introduces Meg and her classmate Calvin to three celestial beings—Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Who—who have come to Earth to help find their father. Together they embark on a quest, traveling by wrinkling time and space known as tessering. As they are transported to worlds beyond imagination, they must confront a powerful evil force. To return home to Earth, Meg must face the darkness within herself to harness the strength needed to defeat the darkness enveloping the Universe. Spanning dimensions of time and space, A Wrinkle in Time explores the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. One girl’s transformative journey is guided by three celestial guides. The film reveals that strength comes from embracing who we are and our individuality. The best way to overcome fear is to travel by one’s own light.

MARY POPPINS RETURNS – December 25, 2018 (Walt Disney Studios) Mary Poppins returns in an all-new sequel with a fresh sensibility that celebrates the spirit of the original. She is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives. Emily Blunt (“The Girl on the Train,” “Into the Woods”) plays the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills that can turn any task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure, and Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton,” “Moana”) plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.
“Mary Poppins Returns” is drawn from the wealth of material in the additional Mary Poppins books. Set in 1930s Depression-era London, the film takes place 24 years after the original. Michael Banks works for the same financial institution that employed his father and still lives at 17 Cherry Tree Lane with his three children—Annabel, John, and Georgie—and their housekeeper Ellen. Jane Banks carries on her mother’s tradition, campaigning for workers’ rights and lending a helping hand to Michael’s family. Mary Poppins magically re-enters their lives after the family suffers a personal loss. With Jack’s help, she brings joy and wonder back into their home.
