In my previous piece, titled "Why You’re Struggling to Leave Your Soul-Sucking Job," we explored the challenges of breaking free from even the most unfulfilling career. Essentially, we are conditioned into a state of powerlessness that dampens our inner light, allowing us to experience the duality we came here to encounter—the darker aspects of existence.
Now, let's turn to the brighter side of that duality. Below are five ways to step away from that job and live out your true calling—even if you haven't yet identified it!
1. Declare Your Mission, Even Without Knowing Its Details
Every soul arrives on Earth with a purpose to make a difference, and yours is no different.
Your mission is uniquely yours, and no one can take it away because it stems from your distinct energy and outlook on life. While other performers, speakers, or healers may seem to do similar work, what you offer can only come from you.
It's tempting to wait for another degree, more experience, or the perfect moment to feel ready and have everything mapped out for the next decade. However, if you keep postponing, you risk spending your life comparing yourself to others and measuring up to arbitrary standards while your dream slips away. Claim your calling now, even if it's unclear. To me, this is the essence of taking a leap of faith—embracing your desired outcomes in uncertainty without knowing the specifics.
Your calling won't emerge from a story about your inadequacies. Shift into a space of absolute certainty each day that you have a higher purpose and gifts to offer humanity. Soon, your calling will find you. It must.
2. Identify Your Core State of Being
Many think a mission is simply "what you do." It is, but it's also more.
Your higher purpose manifests as a career because we live in a 3D reality where energy slows down and takes form. Yet, your mission is actually a state of being—a frequency you chose before birth to experience yourself as a unique expression of Creation or Divine Universal Intelligence.
You can experience yourself as any aspect of Divinity through your singular perspective: love, consciousness, light, leadership, freedom, playfulness, abundance, forgiveness, or surrender.
It's easy to get caught up in the "what" and "how," but ask yourself:
"Once I've fulfilled my calling, how would I feel, and what state of being would I embody?"
Recently, when I posed this question to a client, she immediately replied:
"Love."
That's the frequency her soul chose to embody and share in this lifetime. Whatever she does, as long as she radiates love, she fulfills her mission. How she expresses that love is entirely her choice.
3. Leverage the Power of Contrast
Interestingly, until a chosen frequency is claimed, experienced, and expanded, many people repeatedly encounter events and individuals that evoke the opposite of that state.
For example, those meant to embody light often face darkness, prompting them to rediscover their inner glow. Likewise, those who chose abundance frequently start with scarcity.
A dear friend currently traveling the world spent decades living in fear. Everyone from her mother to her last boss delighted in confining her. Eventually, she broke free and embraced her life mission—to embody freedom. Her journey now inspires many.
From this viewpoint, all the critics in your life—those who tried to diminish or limit you, including unconscious programming and oppressive systems—are really skilled actors and co-creators who agreed to help you reclaim your power and fulfill your divine purpose.
Send them gratitude for playing their role so convincingly!
Remember, when the opposite appears, it's time to tune in and elevate! This is duality's gift. You can let it hinder or support you.

4. Reconnect with Your Inner Child
Occasionally, I hear: "I need practical solutions for the real world to pay bills, not this abstract spiritual stuff."
I can't stress enough that the real world is built on energy—both visible and invisible. Energy is life's foundation, and you are a soul in a body. Master working with energy and your inner world, and you can steer your life in any direction in "the real world."
Any limitation you experience must first exist in your inner world, where you spend 100% of your time. If you have no time for the "abstract," you have no time for life.
For starters, when you love what you do and wake up excited, work and play blend, boosting motivation, creativity, and productivity—key elements for abundance. This means not just making a living, but designing a life.
Inner work plus aligned action equals desired results! Financial abundance, joy, fulfillment, and inspiration are natural byproducts of living an aligned, heart-centered life.
No one can dictate the "doing" for your mission, but here's one way to find out.
When your soul chose this life's mission, it also selected the precise resources, experiences, people, opportunities, lessons, programming, gifts, and even past-life imprints to maximize your potential.
Your inner child can illuminate what you can "do" as an extension of your "being." Start by asking:
"Before the world told me who to be, who was I?"
"What did my inner child enjoy doing and creating?"
"What fantasies did they role-play?"
"What gifts and passions did they want to share?"
"What were they curious about, dreaming of, and couldn't get enough of?"
Some of my favorite childhood activities included daydreaming, painting, storytelling, role-playing as a healer, and talking to plants or gardening for hours. Today, I'm an intuitive life coach, artist, writer, and plant medicine practitioner. Yet all these "doings" fall under my chosen mission—to embody and share the frequency of consciousness.
Your inner child never left; they're always seeking connection through moments of innocence, playfulness, and letting your guard down. The inner child is uninhibited and cares only about joy.
Embodying your soul calling means following your joy.
Designing your life means expressing your joy.
Creating abundance and purpose means expanding your joy.
You can reconnect with your inner child by allowing more fun, identifying your joy, approaching the world with curiosity, inviting them into meditation, living from the heart, and consciously communicating with them daily.
5. Reclaim Your Power and Worth from Life
How much power have you given away by placing conditions on your joy, playing small, or undervaluing your unconditional worth?
What areas of your life have you made decisions from victimhood, doubt, or lack?
If you're in an unsatisfying career, what beliefs led you there?
Before taking steps to bridge dreams and reality, know that owning your power is crucial for embracing your calling and creating anything fulfilling. Your desires can only bloom if your mind's soil is fertile and weed-free.
Life always responds to your vibration without fail. To shine and inspire, you must release the unconscious beliefs that brought you here, aligning your frequency with what you wish to create and receive. This is a conscious process where the energy you emit equals what you attract—not an overnight shift.
Remember, the opposite of your current experience already exists in the universe. The only way to live that reality is to become its energy!
My free Awakening Guide walks you through waking up to your True Essence so you can boldly embrace your vision.
Dear soul, you have a magnificent mission to fulfill on Earth. Life will do whatever it takes—including sending unfavorable circumstances and messengers—to remind you to reclaim your power and unite with your purpose.
