People generally fall into two camps: primer enthusiasts and those who skip it entirely. I’ve always been in the second group. As much as I wish my makeup would stay flawless all day, the truth is that for anyone with sensitive skin—like me—primers are a gamble. More often than not, they block my pores and leave my skin feeling irritated. I assumed I’d be stuck with makeup that slides off, but by some stroke of luck, I finally discovered a primer that actually works. It delivers hydration, preps the skin, and gives a luminous finish—without ever clogging my pores.
So what is this miraculous product? It’s the Blithe InBetween Hydro Priming Cream, and here’s everything worth knowing about it.
What Is It?
The Blithe InBetween Hydro Priming Cream blends makeup prep with skincare. Its name, InBetween, is fitting because it’s designed to both prepare and shield the skin. It creates a protective layer between your complexion and makeup, helping to guard against potentially irritating ingredients found in cosmetics. The texture is like a watery gel cream—it softens the skin, grips foundation, and delivers a smooth, ready-for-makeup surface that won’t clog pores.
You can use it whether you’re aiming for a full-glam look or simply want a hydrated, natural radiance on makeup-free days. It’s enriched with Bifida Ferment Extract, a natural probiotic that strengthens the skin barrier (meaning your skin’s innate ability to retain moisture), defends against environmental aggressors, and provides extra hydration.
It also features Ceramides—skin-nourishing lipids that plump and condition the skin’s surface—and Squalane, a glow-enhancing ingredient that fortifies for a radiant complexion. This primer will make your makeup look great, but it will make your skin look even better.
How To Use
After cleansing (I use the Blueberry Bounce Cleanser so my skin starts clear and bright), toning, and applying the Makeup Prep Essence, I warm a dime-sized amount of the cream between my palms and gently press it into my skin. What I love is how simple it is to use and how it reduces the number of products I need to buy.
My favorite aspect of the InBetween Hydro Priming Cream is its versatility in customizing your makeup application. Apply it to bare skin for a subtle, just-out-of-the-shower glow. Or layer foundation on top—it will keep the makeup in place while making it appear more natural. And if you want to amplify your radiance, strategically tap a small amount onto your cheekbones and brow bones after foundation for a highlighter effect without using an actual highlighter.
Now that I’ve tried it, I can’t imagine doing my makeup without it. It instantly smooths and blurs my pores while delivering a surge of glowing hydration. Plus, it extends the wear of my foundation—something I definitely need. I rarely use setting powders because they make my dry skin look cakey, so this primer is an excellent alternative. It boosts the longevity of my foundation while still letting it look like my skin, only better. Let’s see your average primer do that.
