‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’
Reboot on the Horizon?
Pshh, Just Ask the ‘Fresh Princess’
EXCLUSIVE
Sorry, Will Smith — the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ could soon be replaced. Sources tell TMZ a new heir is being considered for a TV revival, and this time it’s a woman.
The company owning the rights to ‘Fresh Prince’ has submitted several trademark applications to secure the name “Fresh Princess” for a television show and nearly every other type of media platform.
They’re also seeking to trademark “Fresh Princess” for a wide range of merchandise — including bags, backpacks, animal collars, and of course plenty of clothing and shoes.
As we previously reported, the people behind ‘Fresh Prince’ recently filed trademark requests for new ‘Fresh Prince’ toys, which sparked rumors that an animated version of the iconic ’90s series was in development — especially since Will seemed to support a cartoon take on the Banks family.
It’s unclear whether Will would be involved in a female-focused reboot.
