Searching for a wholesome breakfast or an energising afternoon pick-me-up? Whip up this irresistible gluten-free Fruit Freakshake — bursting with fresh fruit and completely free from added sugar!
This Fruit Freakshake is the ultimate refreshment for scorching summer days. I usually prepare it on weekends when I've got extra time to go all out with the fruity toppings. HOWEVER, if you'd rather skip the elaborate garnish, this gluten-free Fruit Freakshake comes together in just 5 minutes, making it an ideal grab-and-go breakfast on hectic mornings.
This is far from your typical milkshake — it's crammed with fresh fruits, wonderfully nourishing thanks to the whole a2 Milk™ blended in, and far better for you than a standard milkshake courtesy of my secret nice cream trick.
We've been obsessed with nice cream ever since I first whipped it up years ago. It's a regular fixture in our kitchen, so it was an obvious choice to swap it in for traditional ice cream in this incredible Fruit Freakshake!
If you've never come across nice cream before, it's a dreamy ice cream crafted from frozen chopped banana blitzed into soft-serve perfection. It takes a mere 3 minutes from start to finish, and you'll have the most mouth-wateringly healthy ice cream imaginable.
To create this Fruit Freakshake, I used frozen banana as the foundation, then mixed in mango and milk for the bottom layer, and a blend of fresh and frozen berries for the upper layer. The beauty of it is that there's absolutely no need for extra sugar — the banana handles all the natural sweetening.
This nutrient-dense Fruit Freakshake is wonderfully versatile with whatever fruit you fancy. I'm a big fan of the lush sweetness of mango playing off the zingy tartness of fresh berries. But don't hesitate to play around with any other fruit that delivers a similar flavour contrast.
The milk I reached for to create this glorious freakshake is the well-loved a2 Milk™.
This award-winning company produces milk that is naturally free from the A1 milk protein, which can trigger health concerns for those with dairy intolerance. I've struggled with dairy intolerance for years, but ever since I discovered a2 Milk™ I managed to bring milk back into my diet without any of the unpleasant side effects I used to experience — I can't recommend it highly enough!
With World Milk Day approaching, why not raise a glass to the wonderful benefits of milk with this silky-smooth Fruit Freakshake?
