In Red Sparrow, Jennifer Lawrence basically portrays the female equivalent of John Wick, but because the lead is a woman, the powers that be in Hollywood apparently couldn't resist turning her into a sex worker before anything else. Scratch that — what I should say is a "mesmerizing Russian intelligence operative." Obviously a completely different occupation. I recall that emotionally intense moment in Taken when Liam Neeson donned a cleavage-exposing gown and offered sexual favors to one of the criminals to learn his daughter's whereabouts. Such raw, powerful filmmaking. And Jennifer Lawrence's attempt at a Russian accent? Downright hilarious.
