Happy Wednesday, friends! This marks the final installment from Saigon. From here, we're heading north, with Sapa, Ninh Binh, and Hanoi on the itinerary, plus a detour to Lao Cai for some field research. It'll be my second encounter with the Pacific Links Foundation — a group spearheading anti-trafficking work throughout Vietnam — though my inaugural visit to their actual shelter. The facility sits right along the Vietnam–China border in Lao Cai. Once I've absorbed more details and spent time inside the safe house, I'll be sure to share updates. Until then, enjoy these parting snapshots of gorgeous Saigon.
Our route took us through District 1 toward the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, but we paused along the way at a little coffee spot tucked off the main streets. We wandered down a narrow alley, climbed a few flights of steps, and stumbled upon gorgeous stone walls opening onto balconies with sweeping views across the city. Those surprise discoveries are exactly what gives Saigon its magic.
And no matter where we roamed, butterflies seemed to flutter our way =)
Three levels showcasing Vietnamese sculpture, paintings, and ceramics; quaint French-style doors tucked into every alcove; an art student sketching and showcasing his portfolio on-site… honestly, it was the ideal afternoon to wander, connect, and rediscover my affection for Saigon.
I trust you appreciate the feature, the imagery, and the styling! As ever, sincere thanks for stopping by!
