London Fashion Week for Autumn/Winter 2019 began yesterday, featuring designers such as ASAI, Ashley Williams, Matty Bovan, and Ryan Lo. To celebrate, the city’s most fashion-forward individuals took to the streets in their most striking ensembles.
While this season offers plenty to anticipate—Ricardo Tisci will present his challenging sophomore collection for Burberry, Fashion East will showcase up-and-coming talent, and Shrimps will make their scheduled debut—there is also abundant inspiration to be gathered outside the runway venues.
Our key observations? Hair slides remain a staple, so consider adding some pearly pieces to your collection; neutral shades are enduring, so experiment with rust, sand, and camel hues; and architectural heels are the ideal choice for making a statement.
Londoners value style but are fundamentally pragmatic, and this ensemble reflects that perfectly—elegant, subtle, yet conveying, “I need to be somewhere in five minutes.”
Let’s rate this outfit 10/10 for head-to-toe flame orange, 11/10 for the layering technique, and 12/10 for being naturally blessed with that hair.
It’s been an incredibly long winter, so we are deeply thankful to London’s exceptionally chic women for delivering so many delightful and vivid bursts of orange. It truly brightens our day—and how stunning does it look beside sky blue?
The teal coat, the stylish patterned trousers, those bold shoes, accessories for your accessories—everything somehow coordinates and clashes simultaneously. And we adore that.
Excellent trench, excellent bag, excellent boots. Simple as that.
This suede-meets-snake ensemble exudes attitude—and so does the woman wearing it.
Londoners are too effortlessly cool to care, and this outfit mirrors that vibe. Love the oversized blazer paired with a soft knit underneath, great jeans, architectural heels for added intrigue, and a small bag.
That rugged leather jacket really does it for us.
What would London Fashion Week be without a touch of eccentricity? This wonderfully fanciful outfit truly captured our attention. At first glance, it seems understated, but the magic lies in those neon accents.
Leather bucket hat, oversized grape shirt, two types of plaid, and kick-ass boots—she means business.
One word to describe these two: JOY.
Someone truly knows how to use color. The ankle-length red cardigan is the solution to all our transitional dressing dilemmas. The baseball cap is a delightful, unexpected touch.
Beige is making a comeback, and this blazer proves it never has to be boring—especially when paired with a plain white T-shirt, leather trousers, and a silk scarf tied into her ponytail.
Sometimes London’s weather works against us, but this look demonstrates that you can stay warm and still be incredibly stylish.
