The Fall-Winter 2020 season for Saint Laurent unfolded as part of New York Fashion Week. Following Milan’s events, the fashion focus shifted to Paris, where collections from leading fashion houses were presented. Saint Laurent’s show was among the most anticipated.
Anthony Vaccarello, the brand’s creative director, found inspiration in the 1980s and archival pieces by Yves Saint Laurent. This led to silk blouses with bow ties, feminine checkered jackets, corsets, high-waisted skirts, and slit details.
Latex emerged as a defining feature of the Fall-Winter 2020 collection. Vaccarello acknowledged that latex is often associated with inexpensive materials, but he set out to disprove that notion—and succeeded. The lineup includes latex leggings, bodysuits, skirts, dresses, and bras, all intended to be worn with tweed or wool garments. Below are the standout looks from Saint Laurent’s Fall-Winter 2020 collection.
