This year, Bergdorf's festive window displays paid homage to famous New York City institutions. Among the scenes were the American Museum of Natural History, featuring dinosaur "fossils" glittering with Swarovski crystals; the New York Philharmonic, represented by vivid neon red lights shaped like musical instruments; and the New York Botanical Gardens, brought to life with a lush floral landscape and two gardeners. In keeping with the theme, the store offered an exclusive lineup of unique items for purchase, with each designer taking inspiration from a specific window. Several creators collaborated directly with the landmarks themselves to produce bespoke pieces, including hand-painted umbrellas, scarves, jewelry, and more.
It was within this curated selection that we discovered the Sylvia Furmanovich clutch (pictured above) and her accompanying jewelry line—both tied to the Natural History Museum window—that truly captured our attention. The Brazilian artisan's handcrafted creations blend the hues and textures of locally sourced reclaimed wood with rare and valuable stones such as gold and diamonds, resulting in an extraordinary assortment of one-of-a-kind pieces.
