Oprah Winfrey
A Comment About Lacking Presidential DNA
Doesn't Automatically Mean She Won't Run

Many people are convinced Oprah Winfrey will definitely skip the 2020 presidential race based on a recent interview—but they're overlooking a key detail.
In an interview with InStyle, Oprah stated she doesn't “have the DNA” to pursue the presidency—a statement that seemed to end the speculation ignited by her Golden Globes speech. However, that “DNA” remark was actually made 3 weeks before the Globes.
The InStyle article makes this timeline clear, yet almost nobody is discussing that aspect. The distinction matters: Oprah could easily have shifted her stance after the overwhelming response to her Globes address.
Additionally, Stedman Graham mentioned she would “absolutely do it” if the public wanted her to run. It's likely Stedman wouldn't have made such a claim without some inside information.
Senator Marco Rubio commented that Oprah might not be suited for politics, but again—he wasn't aware the remark was outdated.
So, yes…we're still saying there's a possibility.
