Passion Pit made their long-awaited return to New York City on Saturday night (January 13) at Terminal 5, marking their first performance in the city since 2015. Though the band is currently touring behind their independently released 2017 album Tremendous Sea of Love, they performed only a single track from that record during Saturday's concert—"Undertow"—while concentrating heavily on material from Manners and Gossamer. The tour also celebrates the tenth anniversary of Passion Pit's debut EP, Chunk of Change, and a portion of VIP package proceeds is being donated to mental health awareness charities. Browse the gallery above for photos from Saturday's show, and find the complete setlist plus several video clips below.

In a recent conversation with The Independent, Michael Angelakos opened up about the difficulties touring presents in relation to managing his mental health. "I resumed my medication, but I wasn't sure I could handle the tour," he explained. "It goes against the recommendations of almost every doctor, but to be honest, many years of touring have been against medical advice—psychiatric or otherwise. I didn't want to cancel. I didn't want to disappoint anyone." He added, "I've chosen to do this tour because it offers a chance to reunite with some of the best musicians I've ever worked with, certainly. But mostly, I decided to go ahead because I need the income to pay for my treatments, to cover the many costs of living with my condition that have nearly destroyed me. That doesn't make the tour any less meaningful, but I won't pretend that touring is the right place for someone like me right after a hospital stay." Michael also discussed The Wishart Group, described as "a hybrid nonprofit and for-profit organization dedicated to providing mental health programs, services, and concrete solutions for the arts."
