Essential Skincare Picks When You're Dealing with Both Dryness and Breakouts

Weekly question: What's your top skincare struggle, and which items do you rely on to tackle it?

Lately, my main challenge is juggling two problems at once: parched skin paired with stubborn breakouts.

Yes, Emme Diane has dominated my recent posts, but I truly couldn't be happier with these formulas (and just as impressed with Emme's breakout coaching). My complexion tends to develop tender, swollen cystic pimples, yet somehow it always feels moisture-starved. This season has been brutally arid, and for the first time ever, my skin is genuinely DRY — yet the blemishes keep coming!

What sets Emme Diane apart (and frankly, what makes her special) is the email-based guidance she provides. Plenty of labels simply move merchandise and leave you guessing whether the items suit you, how frequently to apply them, how to layer them, and when to rotate formulas. Emme's mentorship has transformed my routine entirely. I once inquired about one of her offerings, and she was blunt — absolutely not, that will scorch your skin, it doesn't match your skin type! Just recently, she advised me to scale back the blemish-targeted formulas and prioritize replenishing moisture.

Zero Emme Diane formulations contain pore-clogging components, so I can confidently layer the extra-moisturizing items on my breakout-prone complexion. (Worth mentioning — the roster of substances that can spark breakouts is eye-opening. Request her complimentary Acne Bible ebook for the full rundown!) To rescue my winter-weary skin, I've been layering Dew Drops (a humectant mixture) underneath the Hydraluxe Cream (an emollient mixture).

Dew Drops Hydrating Serum is a featherlight, cruelty-free, and vegan serum that I smooth on immediately after cleansing. Timing matters: apply your moisturizers straight after washing or post-shower, so hydration doesn't dissipate and leave skin even thirstier. The Dew Drops formula combines hyaluronic acid, green tea, cucumber, sage, and arnica. My skin guzzles this blend down — and the plumper, more nourished appearance is instant. I'm completely hooked. I believe this works beautifully for most skin types, but I'd strongly suggest reaching out to Emme with photos of your skin so she can recommend appropriately. She also stocks a Skin Quencher Gel Hydrator plus numerous other serums. She can examine your skin, pose a few questions, and pinpoint precisely what you require.

Once the serum absorbs, I seal everything in with the Emme Diane Hydraluxe Cream. This lightweight-to-medium cream (cruelty-free and vegan) melts in instantly, leaving my complexion thoroughly quenched yet completely non-greasy. The formulation features ceramides and safflower oil (one of the rare oils that doesn't provoke breakouts). This product feels like a revelation, and I never want to run out!
