Samruay Imkrajai's working journey began at thirteen, when she took her first position inside a factory located in Ayuthaya, just beyond the outskirts of Bangkok.
By fifteen, she had managed to save enough funds to purchase a modest hang yao—a compact long-tail boat—and relocated to the capital, where she began operating as a water taxi along the Chao Phraya River.
Two decades on, she continues to pilot that very same vessel and resides in a houseboat she constructed alongside her husband, who sadly departed recently.
Cinematography and post-production were handled by Benjamin Parrot, while the on-camera conversation, language conversion, and captioning fell to Rapeepat Jumnongjit.
The footage was captured on a Canon 5D Mark III, paired with an EF 70-200mm f/2.8L II and an EF 17-40mm f/4L lens.
Assembly was carried out in Final Cut Pro, and the grading was performed in DaVinci Resolve—though I'm relatively new to color work, so any constructive critique would be greatly appreciated.
This piece was produced specifically for the Weekend Challenge over at vimeo.com/groups/weekendchallenge.
The accompanying soundtrack is "Window #3" by Two Bicycles.
