The #3000 Mirror represents a pared-down design from Trueing, a studio based in Brooklyn. This collection features two distinct versions—one crafted from honed concrete and the other from oiled walnut—with each piece taking its name from the fine abrasive grit employed to achieve a smooth finish on both concrete and marble.
This series offers Trueing’s contemporary reinterpretation of classic terrazzo motifs, adapted for modern aesthetics and practical use. The designers reimagine cast-in-place marble terrazzo as a functional mirror that can be easily mounted, delivering the essence of large-scale installations into residential spaces without veering into excessive ornamentation.
Eager to emphasize the material’s graphic character, the studio devised a unique pattern for every mirror, drawing from field photographs and sketches. In the walnut variant, the pattern is composed entirely of mirror segments, precisely cut and set into the routed wooden base.
