Two Foods That May Help Speed Recovery from COVID-19

A new study suggests honey and black cumin can ease symptoms and clear the virus faster. Learn how these natural remedies support COVID-19 recovery.

Two Foods That May Help Speed Recovery from COVID-19

Sadly, more and more people are now dealing with the effects of COVID-19. Once the key questions about symptom severity and treatment are addressed, the next logical query often becomes: what diet can help overcome the coronavirus as quickly as possible?

To answer this, an international team of researchers recently carried out a study involving patients with moderate to severe COVID-19. Their goal was to identify foods that might ease the illness and promote recovery.

Their findings point to two such items: honey and black cumin. According to the report published on medRxiv, consuming these foods not only relieves coronavirus symptoms but also helps flush the virus from the body.

In the study, one group of COVID-19 patients received one gram of honey and 80 milligrams of black cumin per kilogram of body weight each day, while the other group received a placebo.

The results showed that those who took honey and black cumin experienced symptom relief within three days for moderate cases and seven days for severe cases. On average, the virus was cleared from their bodies four days earlier than in the placebo group.

The researchers highlighted that honey and black cumin have no known side effects and can be used on their own or alongside other COVID-19 treatments.
