Beyoncé, Eminem, The Weeknd Make Coachella History as First All-Hip-Hop/R&B Headliners

For the first time ever, Coachella's top slots go to three hip-hop and R&B stars: Beyoncé, Eminem, and The Weeknd. The festival runs two weekends in April.

Beyoncé, Eminem, The Weeknd Make Coachella History as First All-Hip-Hop/R&B Headliners

The announcement is confirmed. For the first time in the festival's history, the headlining spots at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival are occupied solely by Beyoncé, Eminem, and The Weeknd — with no rock band closing out any night.

Each of these artists is headlining the Indio, California event for the first time. Eminem previously appeared as a special guest for Dr. Dre in 2012, The Weeknd was on the lineup twice before, and Beyoncé joined JAY-Z on stage in 2010 and performed alongside Solange in 2014.

Beyoncé's set is especially anticipated because she was originally scheduled to headline the 2017 edition but had to delay due to her pregnancy.

The three-day lineup is heavily weighted toward hip-hop and R&B. The Friday lineup (April 13 and 20) features SZA, Vince Staples, Daniel Caesar, Belly, KYLE, among others, with The Weeknd closing the night.

On Saturday (April 14 and 21), Beyoncé headlines, preceded by performances from Tyler, the Creator, Post Malone, Wizkid, Jorja Smith, Chloe x Halle, and others.

Sunday (April 15 and 22) is equally packed with big names: Migos, Cardi B, Miguel, French Montana, 6LACK, DeJ Loaf, Jidenna, and headliner Eminem bringing the festival to a close.

The festival runs over two consecutive weekends: April 13–15 and April 20–22 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 5 at 12:00 p.m. PST via coachella.com.
