Nearly eighteen months have passed since The Weeknd dropped his number-one record Starboy, and it appears the XO leader is preparing to drop his next project.
On Friday (March 2), Travis Scott went on Twitter to announce that he has listened to Abel Tesfaye’s forthcoming album, noting it brings back memories of his earlier material. “Abel new album is scray,” he wrote. “It’s like when I first heard him for the first time. Fuckkkkkk !!!!!”
Travis and Abel are familiar with working together. They hit the road in 2015 for “The Madness Fall Tour” and created two songs, “Pray 4 Love” and “Wonderful.”
It remains unknown when The Weeknd intends to release his new album, but he is scheduled to headline Coachella in April, so a spring launch would align with the festival.
Back in January, he took home the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album with Starboy, which generated hits such as the title track, “Reminder,” and the Daft Punk-featuring “I Feel It Coming.”
Meanwhile, Scott is getting ready for AstroWorld, the successor to Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. Sources suggest the new record will reflect his experiences as a father after the arrival of his daughter Stormi.
