While most of us can’t dress from head to toe in Dior, this fun styling post offers a perfect opportunity to discuss why getting ready each morning is essential for feeling good and starting the day on a positive note.
During my postpartum journey, especially the first three months, I lived in a nursing bra and a robe. I was completely focused on survival—sleeping whenever possible, feeding my little one, and trying to keep everyone, including myself, sane. There was little time to think about how I looked. After three months, I noticed I still wanted to just throw on my bathrobe and skip getting dressed, which left me feeling sluggish and unmotivated.
I was, of course, exhausted, but it began to show in my attitude too. Knowing I couldn’t fit into many of my favorite clothes made it worse. One day, I decided to buy some cute dresses and jeans that fit me right then. So many of us, myself included, wait to reach our pre-baby size before wearing certain things or slipping back into old jeans. But I realized that buying a pair of jeans that fit me now would boost my confidence and motivate me in other areas.

So, my top advice for new moms: go out and buy that dress or those jeans you’ve been wanting, because chances are you won’t fit into your pre-baby jeans for a while. At the same time, don’t go overboard and buy a whole new wardrobe that won’t fit in a year once the baby weight is gone. A small splurge here and there to help you feel good about yourself is absolutely worth it!
So, I urge you to get dressed every morning, even if you’re not in the mood. A stylish outfit can make a big difference. Once you start feeling like yourself again, things begin to fall into place. You’ll think more clearly, and that positivity will spread to your family, friends, and work!
