Rodarte’s Fall 2018 Lookbook
This season, Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte decided to present their collection through a lookbook rather than a runway show, and I have to admit, I find this format more enjoyable. The images capture an emotional intensity that often gets lost on the catwalk. Rather than professional models, the sisters chose to feature their own circle of inspiring women, including Miranda July, Ava Phillipe, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Gia Coppola, Grimes, Kim Gordon, Kirsten Dunst, Rowan Blanchard, and Tessa Thompson. The collection exudes a moody, romantic atmosphere, set against a cinematic backdrop that highlights exquisite garments: red tulle dresses, white lace embroidered pieces, polka dot silk creations, and sequined designs. And the oversized tartan pantsuits? Those were among my absolute favorites. Truly remarkable.
