Jamie Lee Curtis Labels Premium Skincare a Profit-Driven Ripoff

Jamie Lee Curtis avoids cosmetic procedures and has spoken out about how high-end beauty products amount to little more than a money-making scheme.

Jamie Lee Curtis Labels Premium Skincare a Profit-Driven Ripoff

There are countless people who look up to Jamie Lee Curtis for steering clear of injectables and plastic surgery, proving that embracing the aging process can be its own kind of beauty – even when she refuses to glance at a mirror and acknowledge it. That's certainly my reason for respecting her.

Jamie, now 59, absolutely maintains a beauty routine, yet her bathroom counter isn't buried under costly serums and creams claiming to halt the clock. During a recent sit-down with the Today Show, she spilled the details of her actual regimen, and the best part is you can pull off a celebrity-inspired routine without Neiman Marcus-level spending.

The source of her luminous complexion boils down to two wallet-friendly staples that plenty of folks already own. Sharing with Today in what she teased would be "going to shake you to your core," Curtis revealed that Sea Breeze and Nivea anchor her skincare lineup, along with ample hydration and rest, obviously. She mentioned the astringent has been a fixture in her routine for her "whole life," while Nivea handles her moisturizing and hydration needs.

As for the pricier alternatives saturating store shelves, Jamie admitted she has "fallen prey" to their marketing tactics and conceded, "I spent $800 on a big jar of a cream. It didn't do anything! It doesn't do anything! The truth of the matter is, it doesn't do anything for you. It's a scam to make money." As someone devoted to Oil of Olay, Curtis's words are an absolute delight to hear.

Regardless of how the latest Halloween installment fares at the box office – though I can't envision disappointment given the early buzz – it has kept Curtis more visible than ever, and in my view, she shines with beauty both internally and externally.
