Cher appears as a wealthy, sharp-tongued grandmother! Hold on. Is Meryl Streep dead in the story? The trailer references her as if she's buried. Did Rose McGowan pen the script?
Check it out before it's taken down!
This appears to be a mess, just like the original. The first film was a disaster yet still entertainingly so, mainly for the amusement of hearing Pierce Brosnan attempt to sing. However, a follow-up brings deeper ABBA cuts and an actress who bears no resemblance to Streep portraying a younger version. Did anyone ask for the backstory of those coveralls? Absolutely not.
Should Streep indeed appear in the film, it would mark a reunion with her Silkwood co-star Cher. Silkwood is an incredible film, and Cher earned an Academy Award for playing a depressed lesbian roommate. I’ll likely be dragged along by a friend, turning me into a depressed lesbian roommate myself.
