Hot on the heels of their visually striking appliance range from last year, the fashionable design label Dolce & Gabbana has reunited with Italian kitchen brand Smeg for their third joint project. This new assortment, fittingly called 'Divina Cucina', showcases exceptionally vivid stoves and refrigerators that have us instantly coveting them.
The Divina Cucina line by Smeg and Dolce & Gabbana was conceived around the themes of family and genuine Italian culinary tradition. Embracing a 'Made in Italy' philosophy, it merges Smeg's expertise in crafting superb kitchen gear with the imaginative vision of designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
This collaboration offers two separate series, each comprising a coordinated Victoria range cooker and hood, plus Smeg's renowned FAB28 refrigerator. Every piece features warm-weather motifs that honor the deep Italian roots of both companies.
The initial design draws from Italy's famed maiolica pottery, featuring a pattern in oceanic blue and pearl white. Every appliance is adorned with Mediterranean imagery, including Mount Etna (the volcano responsible for Pompeii's devastation) and the scenic remains of the Greek temple of Castor and Pollux in the Valley of the Temples.
The second pattern narrates the Divina Cucina tale using bright depictions of golden lemons, prickly pears, vivid red cherries, and traditional Sicilian ornaments bordered by triangular geometric forms called Crocchi. The subtle floral designs take inspiration from the plants and scenery of Southern Italy.
You can explore the Smeg x Dolce & Gabbana Divina Cucina collection on the Smeg website, and it will also be offered for sale later this year at Smeg's flagship location: 14 Regent St, St. James’s, London SW1Y 4PH.
