Viewers across the globe are celebrating — and why wouldn't they? Just recently, speculation gave way to an official announcement: a new Friends episode is on the horizon. A wish fans have nurtured for fifteen long years since the final season wrapped is finally coming true. Slated for May 2020, the premiere will commemorate the 25th anniversary of when the sitcom first began filming.
All six original cast members are reportedly reuniting on set: Jennifer Aniston as Rachel, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe, Courteney Cox as Monica, David Schwimmer as Ross, Matt LeBlanc as Joey, and Matthew Perry as Chandler. On February 22, each of them posted an identical photo on Instagram, all captioned with the phrase "It's happening."

WarnerMedia framed the special episode as a tribute to devoted followers rather than a true continuation of the series. Just one standalone episode is in the works, destined for HBO Max when the streaming service launches in May. Content chief Kevin Reilly suggested the installment might be titled "the one where they all came together again." On top of that, the full 236-episode catalog from 1994 to 2004 will be hosted on HBO Max.
Production will unfold at Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank, the very same lot where all ten original seasons were shot. Ben Winston is attached to direct, with original producers Marta Kauffman and David Crane back at the helm. The brain behind the reunion belongs to Bob Greenblatt, the WarnerMedia chairman. Each cast participant is reportedly earning at least $2.5 million for the project. The hour-long feature is shaping up to feel more like a nostalgic meet-up for starved admirers than a fresh chapter in the sitcom's storyline. Pretty thrilling news, isn't it?
Quentin Tarantino welcomes his first child
On February 22, acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino, now 56, became a father for the first time. The newborn boy, whose name remains undisclosed, arrived in Tel Aviv — the home country of his 36-year-old mother, Israeli singer and actress Daniella Pick. The baby marks the first child for both parents. Tarantino opted to share the joyful news through a spokesperson rather than keep it under wraps.
Tarantino first revealed that fatherhood was on the horizon back in August 2019. He had tied the knot with his partner in November 2018, having popped the question a year earlier. The two had originally crossed paths in 2009, during Tarantino's promotional tour for Inglourious Basterds in Israel.
Kirk Douglas cut his sons out of his estate
The American screen icon passed away on February 5, 2020, at the age of 103. Across his remarkable life, he built up a fortune worth $80 million — yet, as it turns out, none of his sons will see a cent of it. Douglas directed the lion's share of his wealth toward a charitable foundation he established six decades back. The organization backs causes like Los Angeles Children's Hospital, Sinai Temple of Westwood, the Kirk and Anne Douglas Children's Center, scholarships for underprivileged students at St. Lawrence University, and the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City.
He is survived by three sons: Joel, Peter, and Michael Douglas. None of their names appears in the will. Michael, for his part, hardly requires any financial boost — the Hollywood heavyweight sits on an estimated $300 million. Brothers Peter and Joel, while considerably less wealthy, will presumably manage just fine without their father's money. Relatives of the legendary clan have stayed quiet on the inheritance situation.
Grimes plans to let their unborn child pick its own gender
Canadian singer Claire Alice Boucher, who goes by Grimes, left fans bewildered with an unusual announcement. Taking to Twitter, the 31-year-old fiancée of Elon Musk declared that she plans to let their unborn child decide its own gender — male or female. That's the reason she's keeping it to herself.
"I'd rather not share my child's gender, because I believe their life should be shielded. I doubt they'd want to be paraded in the spotlight, and I don't want to pigeonhole them by gender. Eventually, they'll carve out their own destiny and identity," the singer, currently in her seventh month of pregnancy, wrote.
Grimes also revealed she's already picked out a name for the baby, but is keeping it under wraps. According to her, plenty of people dislike the choice and tease her for it, calling it far too unconventional. The musician remains convinced the name is a perfect fit for the future son or daughter of Elon Musk. The two have been romantically linked for two years, and in January 2020, she announced her pregnancy by sharing a bare-belly photo online. The billionaire's thoughts on his child's gender-neutral upbringing have not yet been made public.
Flooding damages George Clooney's UK estate

Hurricane Dennis slammed into Britain on February 15, leaving widespread destruction in its path. Roughly 400 properties were submerged by fierce winds and torrential rain, displacing several thousand residents. Hollywood heavyweight George Clooney found himself among the affected. His estate, nestled on an island in Berkshire, took a hit when the Thames burst its banks.
The centuries-old 17th-century manor he snapped up in 2014 for close to $10 million emerged unscathed. The lawns, outdoor terrace, and tennis court, however, sat underwater. This isn't the first flood to plague the British residence he shares with wife Amal. Back in 2016, floodwaters came right up to the doorstep of the famous pair's home.
