Dark-Skinned Mother Gives Birth to Twins – One Baby Is a Red-Haired Albino, the Other Is Not

Dark-Skinned Mother Gives Birth to Twins – One Baby Is a Red-Haired Albino, the Other Is Not

In February 2019, 32-year-old Stacy from Nigeria became a mother for the first time, giving birth to twin boys named Daniel and David. The brothers are remarkably dissimilar, sharing only their large brown eyes.

Both Stacy and her husband Babajide have dark complexions, and their six-year-old daughter Demilad is also Black. However, one of the twins, David, was born as a red-haired albino with extremely pale skin. Wherever the brothers go, people turn to look at the adorable pair, and their mother happily showcases their natural charm on the boys’ Instagram account, which has already attracted over 21,000 followers.

Ultrasound technology cannot yet detect colors inside the womb, so Stacy had no idea her babies would look so different — their appearance came as a complete surprise.

Her husband responded to David’s unusual look in the most heartwarming manner.

Albinism is a genetic skin condition resulting from a melanin deficiency, which influences the pigmentation of skin, hair, and eyes. This condition appears in every ethnic group and race. The likelihood of being born with albinism ranges from 1 in 3,000 to 1 in 20,000. Typically, the condition is linked to skin and vision issues, requiring albinos to pay close attention to their health. Fortunately, David has no health problems.
