Phew! After fighting off the flu and getting past the holiday rush, it took me a few weeks to pull this post together. But now I've finally sorted through my Morocco photos and I'm thrilled to give you a peek into my journey.
First, a bit of background: Jason and I received an invitation from the Kingdom of Morocco (yes, quite fancy!) to join a trade tour. The invitation came specifically from the Maison de l’Artisan and the Ministry of Tourism. The tour's goal was to foster connections between American designers and Moroccan artisans. We attended a trade fair called Minyadina, where we met dozens of craftspeople producing everything from rugs and jewelry to furniture, glassware, tile, and all the handcrafted Moroccan items I've adored for years. It was an absolutely dreamy offer I couldn't turn down. Our group included a wonderful mix of designers from various design fields, selected by Susan Dickenson of Home Accents Today, a home decor trade publication.
At Minyadina, one artisan revealed her hands, stained with natural dyes from the wool she uses in her rug weaving.
Rabat is an incredibly charming city. This was my second visit to Morocco, but my first to Rabat. The Medina's walls, coated in that vivid cobalt blue, truly captivated me.
That scene was unforgettable—cats roaming everywhere.
Everywhere you looked, stunning handcrafted items were showcased.
Rabat sits along the coast, and we found a charming tiled café by the water. We paused there for mint tea and baklava while watching the sunset—absolutely magical. And the patio was total #goals.
The city's details are breathtaking. Being by the sea gives everything a slightly worn-in look. Vivid hues and intricate patterns, perfectly aged, carry a deep sense of history. Keep an eye out for more travel photos—next up, I'll be sharing scenes from Marrakech and Le Jardin Majorelle.
Wishing you all a lovely holiday season! <3
