What You'll Need

  • Butter – 150 g.
  • Sugar – 150 g.
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Vanilla – a pinch, to taste
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Flour – 350-400 g.
  • Almonds – one per finger
  • Chocolate or jam

How to Make Them

  1. Start by beating softened butter with sugar until creamy. Blend in the vanilla.
  2. Add the egg and whisk until fully incorporated.
  3. Combine the remaining dry ingredients — salt, flour, and baking powder — in a separate bowl. Gradually work them into the wet mixture, kneading into a firm dough that doesn't stick to your palms.
  4. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for 2 hours.
  5. Once chilled, pinch off small portions and roll them into finger shapes. Use a knife to carve knuckle creases along each one.
  6. Melt the chocolate, loosen it with a splash of water, and dab it onto the fingertip area where the nail will sit. Jam can be substituted if preferred.
  7. Gently press an almond onto each dabbed spot to serve as the fingernail.
  1. Transfer the shaped cookies to an oven preheated to 180°C and bake for approximately 20 minutes.

Enjoy your spooky treat!
