Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and Oil-Infused Version: An In-Depth Review | Be Beautilicious

I've always preferred micellar water over standard makeup removers for cleansing. Here's my honest take on Garnier's two micellar water options.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and Oil-Infused Version: An In-Depth Review | Be Beautilicious

For cleansing, I've always chosen micellar water over conventional makeup removers. Over the past three years, I've sampled nearly every brand sold in India. We all enjoy premium skincare, but it's exciting when an affordable yet effective product appears. Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water had earned global praise, so when it hit the Indian market, I immediately purchased both versions.

This is the first all-in-one micellar water that cleanses and takes off makeup in a single step. Micelles in the formula act like tiny magnets, capturing and lifting dirt, oil, and makeup from the face, eyes, and lips. There's no need to scrub. The formula feels refreshing, leaves no sticky or oily residue, and is fragrance-free. It works for all skin types, even sensitive ones. The outcome: skin that's thoroughly clean, soft, and radiant.

Garnier offers two versions: the standard micellar water and an oil-infused one. Each comes in 125 ml and 400 ml bottles.

The regular Granier Micellar Cleansing Water is ideal for a basic face cleanse before makeup application or as part of your nighttime routine. It's extremely gentle, suited to all skin types, fragrance-free, and safe for the eye area. I use it for double cleansing at night, regardless of whether I wore makeup. The formula softly removes surface dirt without stripping the skin's natural moisture. For daily removal of non-waterproof makeup, it works well.

The oil-infused version from Garnier is designed for waterproof makeup. I mainly use it on my eyes. It removes mascara, kajal, and eyeliner in two swipes. Personally, one swipe doesn't get everything off, so I need a second pass—but that's no big deal. It contains fragrance, yet the formula remains gentle and doesn't sting the eyes or skin. This is a biphasic product: oil sits above the water layer, so you must shake the bottle thoroughly before each use.

Concluding Thoughts

For everyday makeup removal, I'm a fan of micellar water because I don't use heavy waterproof products daily. The regular Granier version handles that perfectly. The oil-infused Garnier variant excels at taking off waterproof makeup, especially mascara and kajal. Neither formula caused any irritation to my eyes or skin.

My rating: 4.5/5
