Terreeia and I chose to spend the holidays exploring New York this year, and we tagged along my Mom for a short getaway since she had never been before!
Our plane touched down on a Saturday evening, and the entire metropolis felt enchanted thanks to the season's inaugural snowfall.
Our accommodation sat directly opposite the park, so once we finished supper, we wandered out for an evening stroll through Central Park:
Maria & Hellen
We shared three truly enchanting days together, which included catching the Rockettes performance. Seeing this spectacular showcase had long been a dream of mine! Fun fact — it has been running continuously since the 1930s. Should you have missed it, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Easily the most breathtaking production I have ever witnessed:
Notice the wall (right side photograph) — it came alive with projected imagery throughout nearly the entire performance!
We also enlisted Bri from Flytographer to capture a portrait session featuring the three of us within the park. She was absolutely wonderful, and below are several favorites from her camera:
Maria Killam and Terreeia Rauffman (pronounced "Maria" with a T)
Additionally, we treated ourselves to several outstanding dining spots. One particular venue showcased gorgeous Baccarat Crystal vases alongside candleholders and breathtaking floral displays throughout. Below, the powder room features exquisite marble flooring visible in the lower-level corridor.
I adore how the stained wood paneling harmonized beautifully with the floor tones.
Here is a charming shot featuring my Mom and me inside the park, posing before The Plaza Hotel. My leopard-patterned footwear nearly disappears into the blanket of autumn foliage, lol.
And captured here at the iconic Plaza Hotel entrance:

The standout holiday displays along 5th Avenue belong to Saks Fifth Avenue (opening two images) and Bergdorf's (closing two images). Photographing after dark minimizes unwanted reflections in the glass:
Captured at Bergdorf's window display as well:

Introducing New York to my Mom proved absolutely delightful, though I returned home empty-handed since I was accompanied by two individuals who despise shopping, haha. I have been making up for lost retail time ever since I got back!
I would also love to seize this moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to you, my cherished reader, for standing by me throughout these years, for your thoughtful remarks, and for your affection.
Wishing you a magical holiday season, my darlings! Sharing this journey with you, my treasured companions, has brought me immense joy.
