The Butcher’s Daughter – West Villiage, New York City
In the core of New York's West Village area, this third branch of the juice bar, café, and restaurant invites nature inside through a front wall of windows that can be folded open. During warmer seasons, the 900-square-foot dining area expands to twice its size thanks to a lush sidewalk terrace. The interior has appeared in numerous magazines and books, most notably on the cover of The New York Guide 001.
The Butcher’s Daughter – Venice, California
Spanning 3,200 square feet, this is the biggest of the three venues and sits directly on Abbot Kinney Boulevard. A 25-foot communal dining table made from reclaimed butcher block wood serves as the centerpiece, giving the space a more delicate, feminine reinterpretation of the traditional masculine butcher shop. This branch has earned accolades for its design, including several awards such as The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards in London.
This expansive 10,000-square-foot double lot in Venice captures the essence of indoor-outdoor living. The main residence, a bungalow originally built in 1910, has been recently reimagined by local architect Charles Ward, with hand-plastered walls, bleached wood flooring, numerous skylights, and concrete built-ins. Above the garage, a contemporary live/work loft creates a symbolic conversation between Venice's historic past and its modern present.
