That provocative inquiry comes from a website whose reporters combed through Los Angeles County records in search of a marriage license but found none.
The longtime couple—Aniston, 49, and Theroux, 46—exchanged vows at their Bel-Air residence in 2015. Yet records in L.A. dating back to 2010 reportedly show no evidence of a marriage license. While many celebrities opt for confidential marriage licenses, according to the site, this famous pair did not obtain one in L.A. County.

Furthermore, sources close to Aniston told the site that rumors have circulated for some time suggesting she may not be legally wed to the actor.
Curiously, the website noted that neither star has contacted prominent celebrity divorce attorneys. Interestingly, when Aniston and the Leftovers actor gave a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday, February 15, they referred to their “separation” without ever using the word “divorce.”
The announcement read in part: “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.
“We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship….Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
