Irresistibly Tender Baked Chicken You’ll Crave Again and Again

This ultra-tender baked chicken is a household staple! A modern spin on the nostalgic, creamy chicken dish everyone remembers from childhood dinners.

Irresistibly Tender Baked Chicken You’ll Crave Again and Again

This ultra-tender baked chicken has earned a permanent spot at my family table! It's my own take on that beloved, old-school creamy chicken recipe most of us grew up eating. Straightforward, packed with flavor, and incredibly juicy…this is a fantastic option for busy weeknights.

Honestly, I can never get enough chicken recipes in my rotation. Chicken outpaces every other protein in my kitchen by a mile, including Balsamic Chicken, Cheesy Artichoke Chicken, and Crescent Chicken…the lineup keeps expanding. And honestly speaking, chicken nuggets might just be the ultimate food…hands down…

This particular chicken dish falls into that timeless category I'm willing to bet you've enjoyed at least once. My mother used to prepare it with mayonnaise, which worked okay, though I always suspected she went a bit heavy-handed. There's a delicate balance with mayo in my view…just enough = delicious…too much = unpleasant.

Am I the only one who thinks that?

Also, this version features cheese, and we all understand the golden rule about cheese…there is no such thing as too much.

Getting everything ready takes only a few minutes. It's an ideal weeknight meal since it satisfies everyone and comes together in about half an hour.

When I have the energy to make them, I love pairing this with my Homemade Egg Noodles. Absolutely incredible!

Start by laying the chicken breasts out in a 9×13 baking dish…

Next, whisk together sour cream, some spices, and grated cheese.

Slather that mixture across the chicken, and you'll likely want to pile on extra cheese as well.

Roast for roughly 25 minutes, then transfer under the broiler to achieve that golden, bubbly cheese crust.

This will quickly become a regular feature on your weeknight menu, I promise!
