Apple has unveiled a striking red edition of its flagship iPhone, dubbed (PRODUCT)RED, with a share of every sale donated to an HIV/AIDS charity.
The limited-run iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (PRODUCT)RED carry a price tag of roughly £699 and pack the identical feature set as standard models, wrapped instead in a vivid red aluminium shell in aid of the (RED) AIDS initiative.
This scarlet-coloured iPhone can be picked up throughout the year, with virtually every major UK mobile operator carrying the special-edition device. The launch coincides with a decade-long collaboration between the Cupertino company and (RED), the AIDS-focused organisation co-founded by U2 vocalist Bono alongside campaigner Bobby Shriver.

Apple has stopped short of disclosing exactly how much of the purchase price ends up with the Global Fund, though (RED)'s chief executive Deborah Dugan highlights that the technology firm has channelled in excess of $130 million (around £104 million) over the last ten years.
She remarked: "Pairing the worldwide footprint of the planet's favourite smartphone with our mission to deliver life-saving ARV treatment across sub-Saharan Africa gives consumers an extraordinary chance to drive real change."
