Below you'll find a creative spin on the straightforward slime formula I published earlier, made with supplies readily available in the UK.
Our household continues to enjoy whipping up all sorts of wacky slime creations, especially with four children who never tire of the stuff and keep dreaming up exciting additions every time we blend up a fresh batch. I recently chatted about our top slime picks on BBC Radio 5 Live, and it's clear to see why kids become hooked on this pastime!
Simply toss in one extra component and the mixture transforms into something wonderfully thick and airy, swelling to twice its size and doubling the entertainment value! This Valentine's-themed Fluffy Slime works beautifully split into mini containers and gifted to classmates on February 14th, or served as a parting gift at a children's birthday bash.
What You'll Need
PVA or white craft glue (commonly called school glue or sold as Elmer's in some countries)
Bicarb of soda (referred to as baking soda across the Atlantic)
Foam shaving gel
Vibrant paint colours
Contact lens cleaning solution (several varieties exist, so clicking through to the specific product we recommend ensures success. Should that exact option be unavailable, double-check the label for boric acid or borax — without it, the mixture simply won't set properly.)
Rosy pink glitter

How to Make It
Measure one cup of PVA glue and pour it into a spotless mixing bowl.
Follow with one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda (or baking soda if you're in the US).
Stir the two ingredients until well combined.
Squeeze in a few drops of your preferred paint shade and stir thoroughly. We went with pink and purple hues to match the romantic holiday vibe!
Carefully fold in two cups of shaving cream using gentle strokes so the mixture keeps its airy, voluminous texture.
Now pour in one to two tablespoons of contact lens solution, beginning with a single tablespoon and gradually adding the second.
Stir gently with a spoon and watch for the mixture to turn stringy, peeling away from the bowl's sides — similar to how scrambled eggs behave in a pan.
Once you reach this point, lift the slime out and work it between your palms. It'll feel tacky initially, but after roughly twenty seconds it firms up, clinging only to itself and turning delightfully bouncy and stretchy.
Generously dust pink sparkly glitter across the surface and prepare for some serious fun!
Should it remain too tacky, drop in a tiny bit more contact lens solution until you hit the sweet spot. Take care though — excessive amounts will make it prone to snapping and tearing.

The result is gloriously fluffy, squishy, and pillowy against your skin, making it incredibly satisfying to handle. Go ahead and pull it, press it, ball it up, skip rope with it, snip pieces off with scissors, jab your fingers into it, trap pockets of air and burst them, then enjoy for hours on end! Slime doubles as a brilliant exercise for developing fine motor skills, so you can feel good knowing there's a hidden learning benefit while they play.
Consider decanting the mixture into tiny jars like the ones pictured, attaching a personalised tag, and distributing them as Valentine's Day tokens! Alternatively, make it part of a party entertainment session that doubles as a souvenir when guests head home — absolute perfection!
Stain Removal Advice:
If any slime ends up on garments … no need to worry! I've discovered a simple cleaning method: apply a squirt of dish soap, let the garment soak in a basin of water, then launder as normal in the washing machine. The slime lifts right off, thank goodness!
