Affordable OLED TVs May Be Coming Soon as Hisense Unveils New Australian Lineup

Hisense, known for offering cutting-edge tech at budget-friendly prices, plans to launch its first OLED TV in Australia in early 2018, alongside upgrades to its ULED series.

Affordable OLED TVs May Be Coming Soon as Hisense Unveils New Australian Lineup

Hisense has built a reputation for delivering high-end features at wallet-friendly prices, often undercutting major rivals like Sony, Samsung, and LG. With that track record, the company’s latest announcements from CES 2018 are particularly intriguing—not only will its new ULED TV range support Alexa and Google Assistant, but Hisense also confirmed it will release its first OLED television in Australia during the first half of 2018.

“Our goal is to give customers access to the newest technologies, and adding OLED to our TV portfolio is another step in meeting consumer demand by offering both leading display options,” said Andre Iannuzzi, Head of Marketing at Hisense Australia.

Alongside the OLED reveal, Hisense is rolling out several improvements to its 4K ULED televisions. Select models will feature 1000-zone local dimming, Quantum Dot technology, and Smooth Motion—the latter now available across the entire ULED 4K lineup. Additionally, the flagship Series 9 ULED 4K TV range has earned Ultra HD Premium certification.

The company’s smart TV platform is also getting a boost for 2018. The updated VIDAA U 2.5 interface promises faster boot times and quicker channel switching, and it will work seamlessly with a new companion app for Android and iOS.

While Hisense’s OLED TV is expected to be one of the most competitively priced options on the market, details on pricing, availability, and full specifications have yet to be released. Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
