Crafting Delicious Blackberry Jam

To prepare this healthy and flavorful blackberry jam, you'll need:

  • Blackberries – 1 kilogram;
  • Sugar – 1 kilogram;
  • Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon;
  • Water – 3 tablespoons.

Start by rinsing the blackberries thoroughly and letting them dry. Meanwhile, prepare a thick syrup by combining sugar and water. Allow the syrup to cool slightly, then add the blackberries. Let the mixture sit for about 30 minutes.

As the berries steep in the syrup, preheat your stove to high heat. Place the pot with the syrup and blackberries on the burner. Keep a close eye on the cooking process—be sure to skim off any foam that forms.

Cook, stirring occasionally, until the jam thickens. Stir gently to avoid crushing the berries. Before finishing, test the consistency.

Scoop a small amount of jam onto a spoon and let a drop fall onto a saucer. If the drop spreads, continue boiling for a bit longer. If it holds its shape without moving, the jam is ready.

Now, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and let it cook for another couple of minutes. Transfer the jam to a different saucepan and allow it to rest for 24 hours. After that, you can pour it into jars. Enjoy!
